Choosing an Excellent Dentist
Dental procedures are not “one size fits all” solutions and having the right dentist can mean the difference between a successful or failed treatment. Aside from listening to your own intuition about the dentist you are considering, you will also want to consider the following:
1) Are you getting a high level of care?
You have to be completely comfortable with your dentist and the office so that you can proceed with your treatment with confidence. You should have the opportunity to have a face-to-face meeting with the dentist, have the opportunity to express your concerns, and then have the procedure explained to you thoroughly. Most importantly, you should never proceed with your dental procedures until you have all of your questions answered.
At Elite Dentistry we will begin with a consultation appointment when we will spend all the time required to know you and understand your needs and concerns.
A dentist who rushes in and out of the room during a consultation conveys a different message about patient care than the dentist who spends time talking to the patient about his or her condition and concerns.
Ask yourself this question. How can quality patient care be given if the dentist is not sincerely interested in you and your overall goals?
2) Is your dentist a specialist in dental restorations, prosthetics and implant dentistry?
Beware of non legitimate specialists. The only specialty that is recognized by the American Dental Association that deals with restoring dental implants and placement of implants is the specialty of “Prosthodontics”. Other so-called specialists are not legitimately recognized specialties. “cosmetic Dentist”, “implantologist”, “implant specialist” or any other such titles are not specialties that are recognized by the American Dental Association. Dr. Kaar is a Prosthodontist, and prosthodontics is a recognized specialty, and is the only specialty that deals with prosthetics such as dentures, implant restorations and dental restorations such as veneers. There are two other recognized specialties of “periodontics” and “oral surgery”, that deal with the surgical aspects of implant treatment, however not the restorative aspect of it. As a result you will still need to see another dentist for the restorative phase.
3) What was the training that your dentist received?
All too often, a few weekend courses, or an implant company sponsored course is all the training that a dentist received before starting in implant or cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Kaar has undergone 3 years of extensive training after graduating from dental school to become a prosthodontist. In fact, less than 2% of all dentists are prosthodontists and only 0.5% are board certified. There are many dentists who are trying to help their patients by getting involved in these areas of dentistry. The reason that is generating so many dental implant mistakes is that cosmetic and implant dentistry was not a part of the dental school curriculum of the vast majority of dentists in practice today. Only now are dental schools starting to incorporate training in Implants and cosmetic dentistry. And as they try to do this, they are faced with a curriculum that is already jammed so full, they don’t know what to cut out so that they can adequately cover these areas.
4) Where are your restorations are made and with what materials?
Many offices have the restorations made in other countries such as China. They are made under no supervision in another country by unskilled laborers. The dentist cannot say with certainty what material those restorations are made of and what toxic and harmful side effects they may cause. Our on-site Dental Laboratory is outfitted with equipment that many commercial dental laboratories would envy. Our technicians are artists in their own rights. With years of experience and continuous training, they are some of the best dental laboratory technicians in the Area. their presence at the office allows for very customized restorations to be made for you, including precise custom shading.
5) What kind of financial arrangements are available?
Many dental offices provide limited options in making your treatment affordable. Dental treatment is an excellent investment in an individual’s medical and psychological well being. Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important health service. Being sensitive to the fact that people have different needs in fulfilling their financial obligations, we provide a number of financial arrangement options.

6) Are flexible appointments available?
Many offices are just open certain days and limited hours. We provide flexible appointments by being open from 7 am to 8 pm. We have a peaceful and inviting reception room, with comfortable seating. We do value your time, and do our best to seat each and every patient within five minutes of their appointment time.
7) Does the office stands behind the treatment they provide?
Many times patients receive restorations that they are not satisfied with or have problems shortly after completion.
At Elite Dentistry we are so confident about the treatment we provide. We have a 100% money back promise policy and offer warranty on restorative treatments.
8 ) Are variety of sedation options offered?

For this reason, we offer variety of anesthesia and sedation methods to achieve an optimum comfort level for each patient.
